About
MILLER MARIN
Miller lives and works on the La Rivera farm with his wife and two children in Peñol. He is an experienced farmer and an entrepreneur. He not only produces excellent quality green coffee but also roasts his own beans and sells it to the local market.
About
peñol
Peñol is a region in the Colombian province of Antioquia, renowned for its coffee and its spectacular beauty. La Rivera farm sits at high altitude, 1910 metres above sea level; it overlooks El Peñol, the monolith that inspired the Big Rock brand. Coffee production here is threatened by plant disease, low market prices and the competition for land from property developers.

About
Lot No. 1 - a great all round coffee
Miller grows arabica coffee of the castillo varietal in the plot we call 'No.1' - we think it's his best! When ripe it is harvested, washed and sun dried by hand. We detect delicious notes of chocolate praline and ripe apricot in the cup. Once the coffee has made it's long journey to us, we roast it in small batches to a traditional medium profile. This makes it the most versatile of our coffees suitable for a broad range of preparation methods from espresso through to filter.
About
farm transformation
SHARETRADE means we have a transformation plan with each of our growers funded by the price we pay for the coffee. Miller's plan focuses on agronomist advice to improve productivity and quality. Since we started working with Miller, he has been able to rebuild his home and expand his local roasting operation.

MILLER MARIN LOT NO.1
A wonderfully smooth coffee, with tasting notes of chocolate praline and ripe apricots. Our most versatile coffee suitable for espresso or filter.
JORGE TABORDA @ FINCAMIGOS
Deliciously bright, with notes of red berries, pineapple and honey. Our medium light artisan roast makes this a great filter coffee.
JOSÉ & LUZ
Light and fruity, we taste plum, sugar cane and lemon. We give this gem of a coffee the lightest roast. We recommend a filter preparation style, served black.
