José & Luz
José Aristedes and his partner, Luz Cardona, live and work on their farm with their 2 chilldren. They have worked as coffee farmers for more than 30 years and have faced many difficult challenges. Having been displaced from their old farm during the civil war, they have taken on Bolivia Boratavia with the dream of one day owning their own farm again.
about
Bolivia Boratavia
José & Luz's farm is located close to Chinchiná, a well known coffee producing area in Caldas, Colombia. It is a relatively large farm for a smallholding, consisting of 8 hectares situated 1,700 metres above sea level. It is currently planted with 3 varietals of arabica: castillo, caturra, and colombia. The farm and land needs a lot of work and investment, although the trees are producing high quality beans.

about
José & Luz' coffee
We were drawn to work with José & Luz because the challenge they are facing as they embark on the renovation of Bolivia Boratvia is immense. But also because their coffee is already quite beautiful. It is a very light, delicate and fruity washed arabica, with subtle hints of plum and sugar cane, nicely balanced with notes of lemon. We roast this coffee very lightly to showcase the wonderful flavours. Best suited for filter preparation methods.
about
farm transformation
SHARETRADE means we have a transformation plan with each of our growers funded by the premium price we pay for the coffee. José & Luz's plan is designed to get the economics of the farm on an even keel, to invest in soil enrichment for productivity and a new drying station to enhance quality, and to adopt agricultural best practices. The general infrastructure of the farm requires work and investment to meet environmental sustainability standards and generate a financial return.

MILLER MARIN LOT NO.1
A wonderfully smooth coffee, with tasting notes of chocolate praline and ripe apricots. Our most versatile coffee suitable for espresso or filter.
JORGE TABORDA @ FINCAMIGOS
Deliciously bright, with notes of red berries, pineapple and honey. Our medium light artisan roast makes this a great filter coffee.
JOSÉ & LUZ
Light and fruity, we taste plum, sugar cane and lemon. We give this gem of a coffee the lightest roast. We recommend a filter preparation style, served black.
